Oklahoma/San Benito, Texas: Ida Maldonado, 93, passed away on February 19, 2015 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Ida was a resident of San Benito and a past member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. She moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1961 where she worked at the Naval Air Station for 15 years. She was a member of the Cactus Club and the Senior Traveling Group before moving to Oklahoma in 2007. Ida loved to garden, shopping, and spend time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Robert S. Maldonado; two brothers, Cesar Gonzalez and Augustin Gonzalez; one daughter, Idy Flanders; and one grandson, Joshua Van Dooren. Surviving her is her son, Robert (Sheree) Maldonado; four daughters: Magdalena Rodriguez, Ambarina (Jesus) Garcia, Cynthia Thompson, and Leah (Chris) Van Dooren; 10 grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 12:00 noon until the chapel service at 2:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial in San Benito.
