Surrounded by her loving family, Petra L. Castillo, 76, of San Benito, Texas was called home on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. She was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Juan Lopez. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend to all. Petra enjoyed gardening and smoking in addition to that she always helped other and enjoyed her times at bingo with her best friend Olga. Petra is preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers and three sister, mother in law Agueda P. Gonzalez and her best friend Olga Silva. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Guadalupe P. Castillo Sr., her children Irma E. Castillo, Jose (Amelia) Castillo, Guadalupe (Frances) Castillo Jr., Jay (Patty) Castillo, Nora (Leroy) Bucher, Brenda (Andres) Hernandez, Martha (Joel) Garcia and Javier Castillo, 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Also surviving her are her siblings; Juanita Niño, Soyla Fuentes and Florentina Castillo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Danny Castillo, Greg Castillo, Matthew Bucher, Ryan Bucher, Javier Castillo Jr., Guadalupe Castillo III, Martin Garcia Marcos Garcia and Enrique Briones.
