Marcela Aldape Rodriguez, 78, of San Benito, Texas, took her last breath surrounded by her loving family on November 20, 2014. Marcela was born on January 16, 1936 in San Benito, Texas. In her early years, she attended to her family and owned a small store, El Porvenir and took pride in maintaining both her home and business. She was a very active member of her church, St. Theresa Catholic Church, often donating and making food during the church festivals. Marcela loved to go shopping, drinking coffee and eating hamburgers. She also enjoyed listening to the radio and taking care of everyone. Above all, her greatest achievements were her marriage and her son. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Pedro and Socorro Noyola Aldape Rodriguez; brother, Sabino Aldape; her uncles: Candido Aldape and Pedro (Refugia) Aldape; cousin, Leonel Noyola; brothers-in-law: Enrique Rodriguez, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, and Mauro Rodriguez; sisters-in-law, Mercedes Caballero and Idolina Cantu; and her parents-in-law, Maria Inez Cobarruvias and Taurino Rodriguez, Sr. Surviving Marcela is her husband, Taurino Rodriguez, Jr.; her son, Pedro A. Rodriguez and his wife, Clista R. Rodriguez; her sister-in-law, Maria Gonzalez; brother-in-law, Israel Rodriguez; her cousins: Ruben, Ricardo, Arnaldo "Nallo", Ramiro Noyola, Norma Zamora, and Socorro Noyola; and numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
