Los Fresnos: Ygnacio Vela, 90, entered eternal rest on September 16, 2008 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, TX.
Mr. Vela is survived by his wife, Maria C. Garcia; his daughters , Maria V. Garza, Victoria V. Greenbaum, Rosa V. Lopez, Ygnacia V. Gonzalez, Leonor V. Lopez, Yvonne V. Hernandez; stepdaughters, Norma Linda Serrano, Aida Mullendore; sons, Refugio Vela, Juan Vela, Ruben Vela; stepsons, Oscar Garcia, Robert Garcia, Cesar "Chicho" Garcia and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalio and Mercedes Rodriguez Vela; brothers, Guadalupe Vela, Carlos Vela, Sigifredo Vela, Rosalio Vela; sister, Genoveva Martinez; and daughter, Rita Vela.
Visitation will be held on September 18, 2008 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home, located at 395 S. Sam Houston in San Benito with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M.
Cremation will follow services.
