San Juanita Rodriguez, 64, of Rio Hondo, Texas, entered into rest on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at her residence. Every day she was here on this earth she shared her smile, kindness, and love. She will live forever in the hearts of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Apolinar and Margarita Mata; and her brother, Roy Mata. She is survived by her husband, Jose Cruz Rodriguez; her children: Regina (Shawn) Sultz, Josephine Reyes, Randy Rodriguez, Rhonda (Javier) Pesina, Tommy (Amber) Rodriguez, Jaqueline (Ruben) Alaniz, and Crystal (Rey Alaniz) Rodriguez; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Apolinar Mata, Trinidad Mata, Manuel Mata, and Robert Mata; her sisters, Gloria Montemayor, Dolores Chapa, Rachel Torres, and Ofelia M. Torres. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, TX. Interment will follow at Las Yescas Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Thomae-Garza Funeral Directors, 395 S. Sam Houston, San Benito, Texas, (956) 399-1331.
