Obituary of Socorro Alamo

Socorro V. Alamo, 85, of Port Isabel, Texas, entered into rest on July 26, 2014 at her residence. Socorro worked for the Port Isabel High School Cafeteria for many years. She was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel who enjoyed gardening and reading her Watch Tower Magazine and Bible. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Alamo; two sisters: Mercedes Welch and Guadalupe Gutierrez; and one brother, Fernando Vigil. Surviving her are her children: Hilda Margarita Amezquita, Maria De La Luz Rodriguez, Antonio Alamo, Jr., Arturo Alamo, Gerardo Alamo, Alicia Alamo, Silvia Rosales, Socorro Rodriguez, Isabel Perez, and Ruth Sotello; 28 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Cremation will follow in accordance to her wishes. A Talk will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 301 W. Monroe St in Port Isabel.
