Olmito, Texas - Lydia Esquivel, 70, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sigifredo Vela and Maria de Atocha Martinez; and a brother, Gabriel Vela. Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Santos Esquivel; three sons, Israel Esquivel, Abel Esquivel, and Xavier Esquivel; a daughter, Toni (Oscar) Ceballos; 8 grandchildren: Desareah Monique Esquivel, Ryleah Jeanine Esquivel, Israel Jordan Esquivel, Nolan Abel Esquivel, Jeremiah Esquivel, Victoria L. Esquivel, Xavian Esquivel, Joseph A. Ceballos mother, Juana Vela; and 11 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. A chapel service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in San Benito, Texas.
