San Benito, TX - Ricardo Montalvo Ruiz, 87, of San Benito entered into eternal rest, Friday, May 6, 2011.He was born and raised in Tampico, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Herminia G. Ruiz; his parents, Fausto Ruiz and Amalia Montalvo Ruiz; his brothers, Enrigue Ruiz, Pablo Ruiz, Lorenzo Ruiz, Alberto Ruiz, and Octavio Ruiz; and a sister, Alfadalia Ruiz. Mr. Ruiz is survived by his children, Molly (Jay) Schmalfeldt of San Antonio, TX, Ricardo (Marie) Ruiz, Jr. of Austin, TX, Fausto (Lori) Ruiz of Esterville, IA, Yolanda Estrada of San Benito and Delia (Willie) Zepeda of Harlingen; 10 grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held Monday, May 9, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Committal service will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park. Serving as pallberers will be Ricardo Ruiz Jr.,Willie Zepeda, Greg Pereyra,Jorge Loera, Robert Zepeda and Fred Zarate.
