Port Isabel, Texas: Maria A. "Chena" Tamayo, 80, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on May 14, 2007 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio Tamayo (1957) and Martina Pena Tamayo (1968); Brother, Gregorio Tamayo Jr. Chena was born on June 27, 1926 in Port Isabel, Texas. Her family was one of the first Pioneer families of Port Isabel. Chena was a member of Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church and a lifetime resident of Port Isabel. She survived by her loving sister, Refugia "Cuca" P. Tamayo of Port Isabel; special son, Edward Troutman of Michigan; and several nephews and nieces and other relatives. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday May 17, 2007 at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church, 705 Longoria St., in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday May 18, 2007 at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery.
