I have fought the good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith. 2 Tim 4:17 On January 17, 2014, our family lost a big piece of our heart and soul, our mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, Juana M. Pena. She went to be with her Lord and Savior. Juana was born on June 16, 1929 in San Benito, Texas. The main thing our mom taught us was to love and help each other. We were blessed beyond measure to have her in our lives and the foundation she built for us is solid. There is no greater love than that of a mother. She will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roque A. Pena, Sr.; son, Cesario M. Pena; siblings: Ponciano Mata, Alberto Mata, Francisca Mata, Clemente Mata, Lupe Mata, Lorenza Reza, and Abundia Munoz; sister- in-law, Librada Cortez; and son/nephew Rene Guajardo. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to carry her love and memory: Roque (Francisca) Pena, Jr., Alfredo (Ana) Pena, Rodolfo (Aurora) Pena, Luis (Liboria) Pena, Sabas (Cheryl) Pena, Juan Antonio (Aleta) Pena, Norma Garcia, Adolfo Morales, and Juan Morales; daughter in law/niece, Diana Guajardo; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Dolores Guajardo, Juanita Martinez, and Margarita Diaz; as well as extended family in Texas, Louisiana, California, Oklahoma, and Mexico. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Iglesia Cristiana Emmanuel, 335 Corral St in San Benito. Interment will follow at San Benito City Cemetery.
