Obituary of Mabel Geiger

Mabel Geiger passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2014 in Harlingen, Texas. Mabel was the youngest child of Elmer Hoffman and the former Grace Whitman. She was born November 17, 1917 and spent her early years in Watsontown, Pennsylvania. She married Franklin Geiger in 1948 and moved to Three Rivers, Michigan. There they settled and raised a family. Mrs. Geiger served the community in a variety of civic functions. She was an active member of the Women's Club serving as a past president, she actively supported local schools assisting in many local activities, and serving as a past president of a local PTA chapter. She and her husband were active members of St. John's Lutheran Church where they served in a variety of leadership positions. Together, they shared 65 happy years together until Frank's death in 2005. She will be missed by those who knew her as a caring individual and loving mother. Mrs. Geiger was preceded in death by her two brothers and three sisters. She leaves behind two sons: Ed Geiger of South Padre Island, Texas and Dennis Geiger (Carolyn) of Harlingen, Texas; and a daughter, Vicki Wilcox of Richmond, Indiana. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services and inurnment will take place in Washingtonville, Pennsylvania at a later date.
