San Juana "Janie" Garcia, 62, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on December 28, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Janie worked for U.S. Immigration Support Services prior to her illness. She was formerly employed with the Cameron County Courthouse, Cameron County Health Department, and Cameron County Sheriff's Department. She is much loved and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Rogerio T. Garcia, Sr; and two sisters, Maria Luisa Garcia, and Esmeralda Garcia. Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Manuela F. Garcia; her siblings: Guadalupe (Pete) Soto, Ramiro (Maria del Refugio) Garcia, Jose Luis (Cecilia) Garcia, Sr., Idalia G. (Martin) Garza, Rogerio (Herminia) Garcia, Jr., and Martin Garcia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday December 30, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7: 00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Chapel service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Garcia Cemetery in El Ranchito, Texas.
