Ovidio Martinez Jr, 61, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away on July 24, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Martinez and daughter, Hilda Leija. Mr. Martinez is survived by his children: Antonio (Jennifer) Leija, Griselda (Abel) Graces, Ovidio (Cindy) Martinez III, Esequiel (Gabby) Martinez, Saul (Jessica) Martinez, Lea Martinez, and Veronica (Sam) Martinez. Also surviving him are 45 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 and Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Committal service will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
