Emelia Alajandra Martinez, 17, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on June 27, 2013. Emelia was an incoming senior at San Benito High School. She was a ROTC member and studying to become a nurse. She had many friends she loved and cared about. Emelia was a very happy-go lucky person, never embarrased of anything. She is much loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Emelia Lopez; sister, Laura Martinez; and her boyfriend, Erick Garza. Emelia is survived by her mother, Laura Martinez; teo sisters: Nidya Martinez and Paula Puente; six brothers: Marco Puente, Pedro Puente, Jose Puente, Luis Puente, Juan Puente, and Israel De Leon; three nieces: Roxanna Martinez, Joslynn Martinez, and Rihanna Martinez; nephew Jason Martinez;and her aunt and uncle Emelia Martinez and Mario Camarillo. She is also survived by numerous cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral mass will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. Burial will follow at San Benito City Cemetery.
