Consuelo B. Cruz, 90, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on May 7, 2013 at her residence. Consuelo was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church for many years. She loved gardening and dancing. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Cruz; her parents: Aniceto and Herlinda Rodriguez Benavidez; and three brothers: Aniceto, Guadalupe, and Eduardo Benavidez. Consuelo is survived by her son, Ruben (Sonia) Cruz; two sisters: Maria Quiroz and Herlinda Cruz; four grandchildren: Denise (Chris) Cockrell, Demi J. Cruz, Randi Consuelo Cruz, and Sonny Manuel Cruz; two great-great-grandchildren: Leah Leann Cockrell and Delilah Faith Cockrell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Serving as pallbeaers are Jorge Quiroz Sr., Jorge Quiroz Jr., Armando Benavidez, Mario Perez Jr., Jeffery Rangel, Jorge Montez, and Pablo Montez.
