Laguna Vista, Texas- Larry Ross Hartman, 77 of Laguna Vista, Texas passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
In 1954 he graduated from Clinton High School in MI. He was employed at Borroughs Manufacturing in Kalamazoo, MI as a design engineer for 33 years. He designed the first automated checkout using a bar-code scanner. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy.
He is preceded in death by his brother, David Hartman; a sister, Ruth Ann Hartman; and his parents, J. Scott and Rachel Hartman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Caroline Palmer Hartman; sons, John Scott (Amanda) Hartman of Crawford, TX and William Ross Hartman of Port Isabel, TX; and grandchildren, Jennifer, Alisha (Lee), Brook, Caroline, and Mandy.
Memorial services will take place at a later date.
