Obituary of Aniceto Torres

Aniceto "Cheto" Torres Sr, 80, of Port Isabel, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. Cheto was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel who loved singing and dancing. He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and Woodmen of the World. He was preceded in death by his son Sergio Torres; birth parents, Juan and Justa Torres; parents Eliseo and Emilia Espinoza; brother Jose Torres; four sisters: Josefina Garcia, Ambrosia T. Lopez, Juanita T. Mora, and Maria D. Martinez; brother in law Samuel Holland; and sister in law Dora Sanchez. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Margarita H. Torres; his children: Patricio (Elvia) Torres, Aniceto (Ana) Torres Jr., Nydia (Lalo Martinez) Torres, and Reynaldo (Naty) Torres; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his brother Baldomero (Mavis) Torres; four sisters: Margarita T. Martinez, Nestora T. Taylor, Cecilia T. Forbes, and Evangelina Villamor; sister in law Ester Garza; and brother in law Johnny Holland. Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St, Port Isabel, Texas. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Patricio Torres, Aniceto Torres Jr., Reynaldo Torres, P.J. Torres, Christopher Vasquez, Jose Martinez, Aniceto Torres III, and Rodney Torres. The Torres Family would like to give a special thanks to Ebony Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Staff in Brownsville, and his providers Isabel Quesada and Amada Gonzalez for their loving care.
