Teresa De La Cruz, 81, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Teresa De La Cruz was born on August 22, 1943, in San Benito, Texas to Bernardo Meza and Ester Corona. She grew up in the outskirts of San Benito in an area know as San Jose Ranch. She worked for Fun-N-Sun RV Park in San Benito, Texas for 30 years. She was proudly married to our father, Leonel De La Cruz, whom she married on March 4, 1960. Rest easy our Dancing Queen. She is preceded in death by her father, Bernardo Meza and her mother, Ester Corona; her siblings, Maria Ester Meza, Pedro Meza, Celestina Meza Barrientos, Enrique Meza, Leonor Meza Cortez, Bernardo Meza Jr., Lucio Meza, and Juan Meza; and great-grandchild, Rylan Jacob Tamez. Left to cherish her loving memory is her husband of 64 years, Leonel De La Cruz; her children, Sonia De La Cruz, Leonel (Rachel Medina) De La Cruz, Sofia (Jesse) De La Cruz Huerta, Sylvia De La Cruz, Tony (Laurie Leon) De La Cruz, Susana (Xavier) De La Cruz Naranjo, and Sandra (Mike) De La Cruz Diaz; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Numerous family and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Holy Rosary at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S. Bowie St., San Benito, Texas 78586 with a burial to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
