Edwin C Gonzalez, 63, of Los Fresnos, TX passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his residence in Los Fresnos. Mr. Gonzalez was a native of Los Fresnos. He was born December 8, 1960, in Matamoros Tamaulipas to Mr. And Mrs. Esteban S Gonzalez and Graciela C. Gonzalez. He was a son, a brother, a father, an uncle and a friend. Mr. Gonzalez attended Los Fresnos schools graduating from Los Fresnos High School class of 1980. He attended Texas Southmost College and was certified HVAC Technician. Mr. Gonzalez was involved in various sports in high school including track, football, and his favorite sport, baseball. He was a collector of sports memorabilia, he enjoyed traveling, Country and Tejano dancing, and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his father Esteban S Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his son Edwin Gonzalez Jr.; mother, Graciela C Gonzalez; brothers and sisters, Jose C Gonzalez and wife Lisa Gonzalez, Graciela G Martinez and husband Arthur Martinez, Maria D Gutierrez and husband John Gutierrez, Esteban Gonzalez Jr. and Eva Gonzalez and Carlos C Gonzalez. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church, 9178 Tomas Cortez Jr St, Olmito, TX 78575 with interment to follow to Los Cuates Cemetery.
