Casimiro Melendez, 82, of Weslaco, TX passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX. Casimiro was born in Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico. He grew up in the country where he raised cows and where he learned to be a mechanic. His skills enabled him to fix his own farm equipment. He is preceded in death by his parents, Esteban Melendez and Anita Carreon; son, Jesus C. Melendez; siblings, Magdalena, Jesusa, Virginia, Zacarias Melendez. He is survived by his wife Maria de los Santos Herebia Jaramillo; 3 sons, Jose, Guadalupe, and Edelmiro Melendez; sister, Amelia Melendez; grandchildren, Esteban, Mario, Isabel, Edgar, Samantha, Carlos, Ricardo, Evelyn, Caleb, and David Melendez; great grandchildren, Mario Jr., Karla, Carlos Jr., Lizette, Chantelle, Leah; daughter in law, Griselda, Arminda and Gabriela Melendez and son in law, Sergio Tovias. Interment will take place at in Panteón Cerralvo, Ejido La Puerta Municipio de Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
