On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Heaven gained an angel. Graciela Torres, age 60, passed away in her sleep at her residence. Graciela, known by everyone as “Gracie", was born on November 28, 1963, to Marcos & Maria Olga Torres in San Benito, Texas. Gracie was the heart of the family although she was an aunt for the Padilla and Torres family, she was acting mother to all her nephews, niece's, great nephews, and great nieces. Her big heart and kindness will truly be missed. Gracie, to her friends and family, was someone you can have a disagreement with but within the next second she'll be asking you what you need or how she could help you and would even offer her last dollar just to make sure you are going to be okay. She was always someone you could count on to be there no matter what you were going through. Gracie had strong relationships with a lot of people that counted on her for emotional support. She had so much love to give, and she had so much love for her kids. Words can't explain how much she meant to the family and how deeply she will be missed. “We Love You Gracie.” She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Rolando Torres and Chicho Torres; and niece Monica Torres. Gracie is survived by her brothers: Guadalupe, Alberto, Marcos Jr.; sisters: Yolanda Padilla, nephews and nieces: Amanda, Josie, Jose, Samantha, Alberto Jr, Mary Lou, Anthony, Ruben, Jennifer, Luis, Edgar, Dulce, Perla, Marcos III, Debbie, Great Nephews and Nieces: Dionicio (Nayeli), Ismael, Joel, Jazlyn, Isaiah, Branden, Breeanna, Antonio, JoAnthony, Malakhi, Kaylani, RJ, Jazelle, Bella, Jasmine, Mia, Marcos, Allison, Katyln, Makayla, Best Friend Rosie Conde and her pets, Skipper and Charlie. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Cremation will follow in accordance with her wishes.
