Victor G. Maldonado, 89, of San Benito, peacefully passed away at his residence on February 6, 2023. He was born in Los Indios, TX to the late Victor and Lucia Maldonado. He is preceded in death by his daughter Diana; his brothers; Juan, Pedro, Angel, and his sisters, Manuela, Antonia, Olivia, Josefina, and his great grandson, Hilario Avila III. Victor enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 23 and was honorable discharged in 1957. He worked for the City of San Benito for 23 years where he retired in 1992. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Adela Maldonado, daughter, Alma (Cat) Bedolla; son, Rogelio (Sofia) Maldonado; siblings, Olga Garcia, Ninfa Yzaguirre, Roberto (Tila) Maldonado; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held o Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S. Bowie St, San Benito, TX with interment to follow to Sn Benito City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Pete Maldonado, Jr., Tomas Cortez III, Rogelio Maldonado, David Maldonado, Joe García, and Robert Maldonado. Honorary Pallbearers are Isaiah T. Bedolla and Balde Varela.
