Aurora P. Garcia, 95, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Aurora will be missed by her family, relatives, and hundreds of friends. She raised her family of nine and was very active in many events with the San Ignacio Parish. At times she even prepared dinner for the priests at the San Ignacio Parish. Aurora was a hard-working housewife and worked the farm fields in the community, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. She was always ready to help anyone in need. In her younger years she even prepared sandwiches for immigrants that passed by her house. Aurora was a strong, faithful, and loving woman, until the end. She is preceded in death by her mother, Santos Perez, her husband, Crispin Garcia and sons; Amado(+Benita) Garcia and Leopoldo (Adelaida) Garcia. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Ernestina Smith (+Allen), Juan Garcia (Rita), Cristela Corona (Martin), Leticia Lopez (+Emilio), Claudio Garcia (Virginia), Rene Garcia (Sonia), Armando Garcia and her 25 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and 22 great great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Harbor Hospice Nurse Paul Clark and long-term provider Georgina Lopez. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 24380 US-281, San Benito, TX 78586 with a burial to follow to Garcia Cemetery in El Ranchito, Texas.
