Obituary of Reynaldo Rios

Please share a memory of Reynaldo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reynaldo Rios, 71, passed away October 2, 2023. Reynaldo was the fourth of twelve children to Ramiro and Lidia Rios in San Juan, TX on August 5, 1952. He grew up a part of a migrant family working in the fields in places like Delaware. As time passed by and as he began his own family with his wife Elida Benavides Rios, he became a skilled auto-mechanic, then an AutoZone Parts Sales Manager, to a retired baker, gardener, and whatever else allowed him to keep active. Wherever you would find Reynaldo, one thing for certain was that there was at least one person that knew him. He was known for making friends with everyone he met and no matter how much time passed, he'd continue to treat you with the same enthusiasm, friendship, and respect. In every situation, you could always find Reynaldo doing what he does best and that was to bring joy and laughter to the moment. No moment was ever so serious that he couldn't lighten the mood. He even managed to make one of his doctor’s break character and smile for the first to the amazement of the doctor’s staff. Bringing joy was the way in which he showed how much he cared for everyone. In his retirement days, he developed a skill of baking polvorones and dishpan cookies that were unmatched. You can try to follow his recipe, but there was this beautiful gift that God gave him that is hard to reproduce. Many would tell him to sell the cookies, but his heart was too generous. He would make sure that you left visiting him with bags full of cookies at no charge. He treasured the friendships he had with his family and friends and wanted everyone to know que queria mucho a todos. The source of joy within him came from his faith and trust in the Lord. That we could carry on, moving forward knowing that God would see us through every fight, every struggle until He calls us back to Him. And now the Lord's grace and mercy leaves us with the wonderful memories and moments that He allowed Reynaldo to share and brighten up for us. We can rejoice knowing that he is at peace with the Lord and is with his family that have gone before us. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramiro & Lidia Rios; brothers, Guadalupe Rios, Jose Luis Rios, Arturo Rios, Rene Rios; sons, Reynaldo Rios, Jr., and Raphael Rios; and grandson, Daniel Rios. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Elida B. Rios; children, Marisa A. and Mauricio Chavez, Richard Rios, and Samantha Cotty; siblings, Ramiro Rios Jr., Susana & Juan Salinas, Rodolfo & Joyce Rios, Rosalinda Smith, Anna Maria & Keith Whitney, Ricardo & Cathy Rios, Odelia Rios; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
