Obituary of Juan Claudio

Please share a memory of Juan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our father, Juan Claudio, passed away surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and dear friends on September 11, 2023. He celebrated life for 89 years. He was a resident of San Benito for most of his life. He was born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico on March 30, 1934, to Macedonio Claudio and Maria Lucia Ontiveroz. He was the youngest child in his family. Our father was a Concrete Layer for many years. He worked so hard for so many years and we are so grateful to him. He passed on his strong work ethic to us, his children. We have the fondest memories of working many summers in Michigan, Ohio, and Colorado. He married our mother, Josefina Juarez on September 11, 1953. The miracle of that date is apparent here. Our father went to be with our Lord Jesus and to the loving arms of our mother on what would have been their 70th anniversary. He missed our mother so much and we glorify God that they are together now. No more sorrow, no more pain. Together they built a family and settled in San Benito, Texas since 1957. After retiring from years in construction, he enjoyed visiting his old friends from work and He loved being “PaJuan” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching baseball and was an Astros fan. He was a Cowboys fan too. If you ever visited with him, you would be his audience for one of his hilarious jokes. He is survived by his family. Pete (Delia) Claudio, Tony (Janie) Claudio, Mary C. Perez (Fred), Lourdes Claudio, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and his dearest friend, Carlos Gamboa. He is preceded in death by his parents, Macedonio Claudio and Maria Lucia Ontiveroz, siblings: Pedro, Maria de Jesus, Agustina, Gracia and last but not least, Josefina , his wife of 68 years. Please join us in Celebrating our Father’s life. He would have wanted your presence. We will honor him with live music as he requested. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX.
