Isidro Lopez Rodriguez, 78, of Rio Hondo, TX passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He loved to work in construction. He dedicated himself to this line of work for over 54 years until he retired. His other passion was his love for 18 wheelers, which led him to start his own company. In addition, he had his cattle and goats to tend to while taking his grandchildren to help feed them. He is preceded in death by his parents, Porfirio, and Lorenza Rodriguez. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Gloria Rodriguez; 2 sons, Isidro Rodriguez, Jr. (Lisa), and Raul Rodriguez; 1 daughter, Yvonnilda Perez (Adam); sister, Adela Alfaro; grandchildren, Selena Rodriguez, Isidro Rodriguez III, Crystal Rodriguez, Andrea N. Rodriguez, Alexander M. Rodriguez, Alexis M. Rodriguez, Adrianna G. Rodriguez, Derek A. Perez, Gavin A. Perez, and Abigail D. Perez; and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday July 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday July 7, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 228 Huisache Ave, Rio Hondo, TX with interment to follow at Rio Hondo Cemetery.
