Felipe Longoria, 73, of San Benito, TX, gained his wings on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Solara Hospital in Harlingen Texas. He graduated from San Benito High School in 1970. He proudly served in the US Army from Jan. 11, 1971, to May 29, 1973, as a SP 4 sharpshooter (riffle M-16). He then married the love of his life Josefina Medina on June 9, 1973, and had three children. He worked for several companies such as Woolco, Life Insurance, Orkin Pest Control, retired from Wal-Mart #595 after 23 years for 3 years and started to work again for D&B General Cleaning Contractor Inc. He had just retired prior to his passing. Felipe was a hardworking man, a jokester, dedicated his time to his grandchildren, when needed. He also was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys’ fan with his famous phrase “How about them Cowboys.” He also had a passion love for sport bowling and golf. He is preceded in death by his parents Alberto and Aurora V. Longoria and his brother Eleodoro Lopez. Left to cherish his loving memory is his beautiful wife of 49 years Josefina M. Longoria, His children Erica Longoria (Benny Rivera), Felipe Longoria Jr. (Angie O. Longoria), Randy Longoria (Maria E. Martinez). His siblings: Rodolfo Lopez, Teofilo Longoria, Betty (Jorge)L. Rodriguez, also surviving are his grandchildren; Damien Longoria, Aiden Longoria, Elynna Longoria; step-grandchildren Myranda Rivera (Elijiah Garcia), Sasha Rivera, Bertha Rivera and two step-great grandchildren Desmond Garcia and Adnarym Garcia. Numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recite of the hold rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 351 S Bowie St, with a burial to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
