Esperanza Garcia Mendez, 92, of Harlingen, Texas passed away Tuesday May 2, 2023. Esperanza was a great mother and grandmother. She was known for being very honest and was a hard-working housekeeper. She preferred to walk everywhere she went; she never had a car nor a driver’s license and lived a very simple modest life. She enjoyed novellas, crochet, and wrestling. She loved to dance and was a fan of Maria Felix, Javier Solis, and Los Relampagos Del Norte. She was mostly fond of the many fun times with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Otilia Garcia, and granddaughter Ceydee A. Garcia. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Aaron Daniel Mendez Jr, Robert Javier Garcia, Aaron Mendez, Juan Mendez; grandchildren, Javier Garcia, Robbie Garcia, Shelby E Mendez, Olga Brown, and Johanna Amor, and Vanessa Mendoza Ramos. Visitation will be held Monday, May 8, 2023, from 5:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Chapel Service will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow to San Benito City Cemetery.
