Jose Luis Muñiz, Jr., 69, of Rio Hondo, Texas passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose “Chepo” Limas and Manuela G. Muñiz; 2 brothers, Felipe Muñiz and Pepe Muñiz; 1 sister, Rosalie Muñiz “Rosa” Lewis; 2 nephews, Felipe Garcia, Jr., and Gabriel Castañeda.
Jose is survived by his wife, Isidra Moncivais; son, Jesus Antonio Muñiz; 3 stepchildren, Julian Florez, Milagros Flores, and Pedro Flores; sister, Maria Alicia (Eduardo) Garcia; brother, Senovio (Teofila) Muñiz; brother, Judge Rolando “Mangera” Muñiz; sister, Belinda Royval (Fabian), 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
A Chapel Service will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 10:00 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow with military honors conducted by American Vietnam Veteran’s Chapter 1 at Rio Hondo City Cemetery.
