Juan Roel Bocanegra 48, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Monday March 20, 2023 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 29, 1974 in San Benito, Texas to Reynaldo Bocanegra and Maria Cuevas. He enjoyed fishing and having cookouts. He loved his children and step-daughter his own special way. Juan is preceded in death by his grandparents; Ignacio Bocanegra, Salome Bocanegra, Guadalupe Recio and Juana Recio; his son; baby Angel Bocanegra and Grandson Mason Escobar. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Reynaldo and Maria Bocanegra; His wife, Irma Bocanegra; 5 daughters, Elida Bocanegra, Selina Bocanegra, Maria Bocanegra, Savanna Bocanegra and Destiny Bocanegra; one step-daughter, Deandra; 3 sons, Juan Alejandro Bocanegra, Juan Roel Bocanegra Jr. and Pablo Bocanegra; 8 grandchildren, Michael Escobar, Nayla Escobar, Gabiel Escobar, Isabelle Torres, Domanic Vasquez, Erni Garcia, Mia Garcia and Carla Soto; 2 brothers, Reynaldo Bocanegra Jr. and Fidencio Bocanegra; and 2 sisters, Salome Bocanegra and Carmen Bocanegra. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 pm. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with burial to follow to San Benito Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
