Orestes Ramon “Mongi” Aguilar, 83, of Laguna Vista, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023. “Mongi” was born in Cuba and came to the USA in 1961 and lived in Miami and moved to Texas 1981 and resided in Laguna Vista. He was a businessman and past owner of the Sea Ranch Marina and Restaurant in South Padre Island, Texas. He especially enjoyed fishing and hanging out with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrosio Ramon Aguilar and Isabel Truillo Aguilar; son, Mario Ramon Aguilar; first wife, Raquel Aguilar; and second wife, Mary Palmore. He is survived by his son, Mario Roberto Aguilar; and daughter-in-law, Lilliana Aguilar; brother, Mario Jesus Aguilar; grandchildren, Ariana Sanchez, Dr. Mario Roberto Aguilar, Jr., Lyzet Aguilar, Lynzi Schneider; great-grandchildren. Robert Gregory Goris, Ariel San chez, Wyatt Schneider and Summer Faith Schneider. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Cemetery in San Benito, Texas.
