Mrs. Evangelina Ordaz Covarrubias, 89, of Harlingen, Texas passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023. She was born on April 25th, 1933, to Juan Ordaz and Pascuala Barajas in Mexico. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan L. Covarrubias. She is survived by seven children who loved her very much, Maria (Eddie) Hinojosa, Fernando Covarrubias, Maria Del Carmen Kazmi, Rosa Maria (Tony) Covarrubias, Juan A. (Mari)Covarrubias, José A. Covarrubias and Andres O. (Rosie)Covarrubias. She's also survived by a total of 25 grandchildren and 32 great-great-children. Evangelina was a tough but loving mother and Grandmother. Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters Alia, Sarah, Marcy, Kristina, Kimberly, Adriana, Sylvia, and Valeria.
