Remigio G. Villarreal, 89, of El Ranchito a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 06, 2023. Born in El Ranchito, Texas on March 23, 1933, Remigio was one of nine siblings born to Manuel and Eugenia Villarreal. Throughout his life, Remigio was known for his warm smile, generous heart, and strong work ethic. He retired from the Brownsville Herald after 36 years. Remigio is survived by his wife of 51 years, Blanca Estela Villarreal, five children: Remy Villarreal (Carol), Mary Villarreal, Veronica Villarreal, Vanessa Ramirez (Efrain), and Victor Villarreal (Erica). Remigio was also a proud grandfather to Crystal Villarreal (JNJ), Nicholas Ramirez, Roxanne Arellano and Ryan Villarreal and great-grandfather. Remigio's impact on the lives of those around him will be felt for years to come. He will be remembered as a kind, hardworking, and loving man who enjoyed relaxing outdoors. Visitation will be held in his honor on Thursday, February 09, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 24380 W US Highway 281 San Benito TX 78586. Cremation will follow in accordance with his wishes and his ashes will be laid to rest at Zepeda cemetery. Remigio G.
