Samantha Leigh Martinez, 32, of Port Isabel/Los Fresnos, TX passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Samantha was a 2008 Port Isabel High School graduate, and her love of animals led her to work at Sea Turtle Inc. where she was employed for 5 years. She was also a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, TX. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Salvador and Ofelia Martinez; maternal grandfather, Juan Zurita; and aunt, Ana Laura Martinez. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Raymundo and Marisela Zurita-Martinez; 2 sisters, Michelle Leigh (Marco) Villaseñor and Ana Laura Martinez; 3 nieces Laila, Aliyah and Aria Villaseñor; maternal grandmother, Maria Antonia Zurita; several aunts, uncles and other relatives. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S Longoria St, Port Isabel, TX., with cremation to follow in accordance with her wishes.
