Obituary of Guadalupe B. Zuniga

Guadalupe B. Zuniga was born on August 1st 1959 and went to be with our Lord on July 7th, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rogerio, “Roy” Zuniga, her son, Rogerio, “lil Roy” Zuniga Jr., her parents, Victor Jr and Guadalupe Betancourt, in-laws Dionicio and Juliana P. Zuniga, her paternal grandparents, Victor Sr and Juanita Betancourt and her maternal grandparents Librado and Teodora Herrera. She is survived by her siblings, Antonio, Teodora, and Adrian Betancourt. Left to cherish her memory: her children, Rene (Crystal), Roberto (Betrize), Roxanne Louise, Rosie Celeste Zuniga and Alfredo (Patty) Garza. Her grandchildren: Olga Guadalupe, Rebekah Marie, Rogerio and Roberto Zuniga Jr.; Lesley Ruth, Michael Rene, and Victor Rafael Zuniga; Ryeanne and Rosalee Garza; Alfredo Jr. and Stephanie Garza. Godson, Adrian (AJ) Betancourt Jr. She also leaves behind countless family and friends, especially nieces and nephews who adored her. Lupita worked for the Rio Hondo school district for almost 30 years. She made lots of life-long friends. She loved dancing and watching her kids and grandkids play sports. Her boys were responsible for the famous Wednesday BBQ tradition. She loved traveling with her friends and visiting her cousins all over Texas. Lupita loved her St. Helen’s Catholic Church and her faith in God helped her pull through the sadness and heartache she experienced. A special thank you to her doctors and nurses that tried to make her last few months comfortable. Honored to be Pallbearers include: Rene Zuniga, Roberto Zuniga, Freddy Garza, AJ Betancourt, Jacob Betancourt, Oscar Gonzalez, and Manny Montemayor. Honorary Pallbearers include her grandsons, brothers, brothers-in-law, and nephews. Services include the following: At Thomae-Garza Funeral Home 395 S Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito, TX 78586 Public Viewing 4pm to 9 pm with a Holy Rosary recited at 7pm.
