Reynaldo Peña, 65, of San Benito, TX, entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 27, 2022. He worked for the San Benito School District and Amigos Del Valle along with many other part time jobs. He was a big sports fan who loved BBQ’s and enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, play. Rey really enjoyed coaching little league baseball teams for many years. Rey can be remembered as a gentle giant who made friends easily. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francisco and Francisca Peña; maternal grandparents, Clemente and Maria Galvan; and his father, Francisco Peña. Left to cherish his memory are his longtime companion; his mother Arminda Peña; son, Andrew (Jennifer) Peña; brother, Francisco Peña Jr.; sister, Patricia (Salvador) Vela; grandchildren, Jordan, Jocelyn, Ailynn, Andreydan, and Andrewdan Peña; nieces, Jacqueline R. Vela and Andrea Vela who he was so proud of. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 122 Garrison Dr., San Benito, Texas 78586 with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park. Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Francisco Peña Jr., Andrew Peña, Jordan Peña, Gilbert Galvan, Carlos Galvan, Orlando Garcia, Luis Villarreal and Jesse Camargo.
