Tomasa Garcia, 73, of San Benito, went to be with our Lord, on February 7, 2022, at Harlingen Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her loving daughter Veronica Garcia, her husband, Jesus Garcia Soto, a son Jesus Garcia Jr., her parents, Margarito and Maria Leija, and a granddaughter Vanessa Garcia. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Maria G. Garcia, Maria Del Carmen (Martin Corona) Garcia, Margarita (Ismael) Farias, Antonio (Amanda) Garcia, Marta (Adan) Flores, Gilbert (Miranda) Garcia, her sister Monseratta(Juan) Medrano, and brothers, Margaroto Leija Jr. Jaime, Pedro, and Roy Leija,26 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many other family members. Tomasa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister aunt and friend. She loved to garden and loved the outdoors. She had a heart of gold as everyone would say. She worked at the Levi’s Factory for many, many years. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held to be held at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 10 am at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in San Benito, with burial to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
