Jesus M. “El Cheese” Villegas, 78, of San Benito, TX entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 7, 2022. Jesus was a lifelong resident of San Benito and worked for South Texas Hospital for over 34 years before retiring in 2005. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; Nicolas and Natalia Villegas, his loving wife; Ofelia R. Villegas, sisters; Maria, Reyes, and Amparo Rodriguez, brother; Robert Villegas. Left to cherish his memory are his loving sons; Jesus Villegas, Jr. (Belinda), Carlos R. Villegas, Miguel Villegas, 3 grandchildren; Jennifer, Janika, and Carlos Angel Villegas, sister; Maria De La Cruz, 3 brothers; Juan, Frank, and Alfredo Villegas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 351 S Bowie St, San Benito, TX with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park. Honor to serve as pallbearers are Carlos R. Villegas, Carlos Angel Villegas, Dimas Romero, Luis Romero, Richard Pequeno, and Ruben Gaytan.
