Aurora Gomez, 79, of Harlingen passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 in Harlingen, Texas. Aurora was the oldest daughter of Amparo Gomez, Sr. and Francisca Gomez. Aurora was well known for making and selling her delicious tamales. She was also an avid Bingo enthusiast and enjoyed spending time in the game rooms. She is preceded in death by Father; Amparo Gomez, Sr., Mother; Francisca Gomez, Son: Leonardo Torres, Brothers: Pedro Gomez, Emilio Gomez, Sr. and Amparo Gomez, Jr. Aurora is survived by her Partner; Manuel Zamorano, Daughter; Glendora (Romulo) Longoria, Son; Uvaldo Torres, Jr.; Sisters: Oralia Guzman and Minerva (Prudencio) Agado; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 12:00 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1001 US-77 BUS, San Benito, TX with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and face covers or masks are recommended.
