Raul Hernandez, 88, of San Benito, Texas passed away Thursday November 25, 2021. As we say "farewell" to my Dad, we are reminded of a providential God who gave us a great man to guide and model for us how to live a "good life." We celebrate with joy the life of Raul Hernandez, who went to be with the Lord on THANKSGIVING DAY. He fell to sleep quietly, just as he lived his life. A small group of people knew him, a slightly larger group knew of him. He is preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings and his beloved daughter Christina Hernandez. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Natividad Hernandez; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. What he "did" in life may soon be forgotten, but his legacy will live on in his children: Olga (John) Alvarado, Diana (Ramiro) Delgado, Raul (Veronica) Hernandez. Visitation will be held on December 03, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the recitation of a Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday December 04, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church at 351 S. Bowie St. San Benito, TX. with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Honored to serve as pallbearers are his grandsons, John Alvarado, Major Oscar R. Quezada, Julio Cesar Alvarado, Rogerio Quezada, Nicolas Quezada, Michael Alvarado, Raul A. Alvarado and Eric D. Quezada and Raul Hernandez III. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
