Ambrosio "Bocho" Ramirez Olvera, 74, a long time Port Isabel resident passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was married to Eugenia Ramirez for 48 years and shared six daughters together. His final days were spent surrounded by his family. He was a wonderful husband and great father. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild. He worked as a Shrimper for many years at Zimco Marine. After retiring from shrimping he worked at Walmart in Port Isabel. He worked some seasons with Sonny’s Beach Service. He later went on to work as part of the maintenance crew at Bridgepoint until he retired for good. He enjoyed working on his yard and listening to music while he fixed stuff. He loved soccer and cheering for his favorite team. He will be greatly missed by his wife, daughters, son-in-law’s, grandchildren, great grandchild, family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father: Pedro Rodriguez Ramirez, mother: Martina Olvera Ontinveros, and brother: Macario Ramirez Olvera. Left to cherish his memories are his daughters: Lily Ramirez of Port Isabel, Lupita Ramirez (Eloy Martinez) of Mercedes, Martha Sanchez of Port Isabel, Gabriela Headen (Tommy) of Brownsville, Mirna Garza (Samuel) of Port Isabel, and Noemi Iley (Jeremy) of Brownsville, grandchildren: Rebecca Sanchez, Tatianna Headen, Dominique Headen, Matthew Garza, Ethan Garza, Naomi Hernandez, TJ Headen, Eli Garza, Baby Sam, Noe Hernandez III, Juan Tomas Martinez, Brennan Iley, Eluid Martinez, Cassidy Garza, Brielle Iley, Tamara Headen, and great-grandchild: Dustin Mock. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17th at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 705 S. Longoria in Port Isabel, TX. with cremation to follow as per his wishes. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Samuel Garza Jr, Tommy Headen, Jeremy Iley, Matthew Garza, Ethan Garza, Noe Hernandez III, Juan Tomas Martinez Brennan Iley, and Dustin Mock. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks. (May include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
