Robert Edward Montgomery, 74, of Bayview, Texas passed away Thursday July 15, 2021. Robert, who went by the name Bob, was born on February 28, 1947 in Long Beach, California. He grew up in Long Beach, California and attended Millikan High School and later Long Beach City College. Bob joined the US Marine Corps in 1965. Bob worked as a registered nurse the majority of his life. Bob was an avid Fisherman and Hunter. Bob’s parents were Frank and Betty Montgomery, sister: Kathleen Wheeler, nieces: Jeanene Glaab, Pamela Glaab, Erin Sweet, and Jessica Wheeler, Zara Figueroa and Aubrey Sweet, nephews: Brennan Glaab, Zayne Glaab, Ram Sweet, Brian and Jett Dimmick. Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held November 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 S. Inspiration Road, Mission, Texas 78572. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines by socially distancing a minimum space of 6 feet apart and must wear face covers or masks.
