Obituary of Jose Betancourt

Please share a memory of Jose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sorrow, the Betancourt family announces the passing of Jose "Joey" Betancourt, Jr. He passed peacefully at Valley Baptist Medical Center on Wednesday September 15th 2021 to have everlasting life with Jesus Christ. He always had a smile on his face that was nothing but love and a heart of gold. He leaves us with lots of memories that will keep him alive in our hearts. He was a legend and a history maker. He was a mark in all he did for the youth and as a coach to all at the age of 14 running the Boys and Girls Club of San Benito leaving a legacy behind. He would help everyone at any time and any place. He loved to watch the San Benito Greyhounds and the Cowboys play and jam his rock-n-roll music. His main love in life was to spend time with his family and have barbecues. Everyone loved his BBQ and everyone loved Joey. He was preceded in death by his father Jose H. Betancourt and his mother Maria Magdalena Betancourt. He is survived by his wife Samantha his five children Isaiah, Leiah, Elijah, Delilah, Noah and granddaughter Isabella. He is also survived by his two brothers Rolando Betancourt his life partner: Annie, their children: Zoe and Aiden, Noe Betancourt, his wife: Yadira, their children: Eliseo, Melanie, and Adam. Our wonderful, devoted and loving Joey was a dear and faithful servant of God. God saw that you were very tired and HE reached out to you and said, come home. His spirit was released from this ailing body that was invaded by the dreadful Covid19 virus. You are now free and will watch over your children, Samantha and ALL your wonderful family from above. With the comfort of your gracious promise of everlasting life we believe we’ll all see you again in heaven. We love you Joey and you will be greatly missed. A rosary shall be recited on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1001 US-77 BUS, San Benito, TX 78586, San Benito, Texas.
