Arcelia "Chelo" Ochoa- Gonzalez, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 of natural causes at her daughter's home in Houston, TX. She was 86 years old. A native of port Isabel, TX she was born on January 8, 1926 and is preceded in death by her parents, Benito Sr and Virginia Ochoa; her husband Ruben Gonzalez; two brothers: Benito Ochoa Jr and Arnoldo Ochoa; two sisters: Lucilla Green and Aurora Moreau; and four children: Thomas Montelongo, Amalia Rudd- Graham, Adolfo Gonzalez and Benito Gonzalez. She is survived by her children: James R. Montelongo of Clear Lake, TX; Alicia Gonzalez of Houston, TX; Raul Gonzalez and his wife Diana of Alvin, TX; Abigail Moncevaiz and her husband Emilio, of Houston, TX; Ruben Gonzalez of Diboll, TX; Arturo Gonzalez and his wife Rosalinda of Edinburg, TX; and Miguel Gonzalez and his wife Juana Maria of McAllen, TX; one sister, Inez Hinojosa; and widowed sister-in law Maria Del Rosario Ochoa. Also surviving her are 33 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 5 great- great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Thomae- Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation will continue from 6 pm to 9 pm, with a holy rosary at 7 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located on 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel, Texas. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at Port Isabel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Jimmy Montelongo, Jr., Tommy Montelongo, Jr., Gabriel Rudd, Diego Garza, Jr., Sonny Bravo, Michael J. Gonzalez, Benito R. Gonzalez, Jr and Sergio A. Gonzalez.
