Obituary of Mike Bonge

Michael Paul Bonge, 63, passed away Sunday August 1, 2021 in South Padre Island, Texas. Mike's love for friends, music and family enhanced the lives of the people around him. He never met a stranger and reminded us of the joys of life and nature regularly. Mike always knew the best kept secrets of local food, music and made sure we didn't miss out on any experience. He soaked up and enjoyed each moment and in recent years, lived out his dream on the beach. As a father he showed the patience of a Buddhist monk and was there to hold our hand when the right words were missing. Mike was never alone and shared many years in the presence of his feline companions. Those who knew him each have a special story and memory they hold in their heart. We wish we could have shared more time with him but will remember fondly the times he made special for us. He is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memories are his children: Alexandria F Smith, oldest daughter Ashlyn M Hollingshead, younger daughter Valentino, beloved kitty, sisters: Susan McLinn and Mary Sepulveda.
