James Robert Montelongo Jr., 53, of South Padre Island, Texas, passed away on July 21, 2020, in Houston, Texas. Preceded in death by his mother, Anna Bailey; his father, James Robert Montelongo Sr.; and maternal grandmother, Maria Ramos. Left to treasure his memories are his uncles, Albert (Alma) Bailey (God Parents) and David Martinez; aunts, Norma L. Ortiz and Patricia (Jose Luis) Martinez Padilla; siblings, Anjanette Montelongo (Guy Tooke, Jr.) , Johanna Montelongo and Jennifer Montelongo; his children, Katherine Montelongo, Gabriel Montelongo and James Robert Montelongo III; 5 grandchildren; niece, Cassidy J. Tooke and nephew, Rory James Tooke; cousins, Alan Bailey, Scott Bailey, Robin Bailley, Melissa Ortiz Garcia, Luis Ortiz, Erica Ortiz, Elisha Martinez, Adrain Moreno, Jonathan Martinez and Thomas Montelongo Jr. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 South Longoria Street in Port Isabel, Texas. Inurnment burial will follow to the Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel.
