Cosme De la Fuente, 81, of San Benito passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 21, 2021. Cosme was a sweet and loving person. He retired from being a Mexican bread maker. He baked Mexican bread for a lot of years. He was a loving loyal father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He will truly be missed. The family would like to give special thanks to Retama Nursing Home and Staff in Harlingen for their compassion and care. In addition, we wish to give thanks to his providers that took care of him day after day. He is preceded in death by his wife: Nohemi De la Fuente, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Left to cherish is memory are: Arturo (Janie) De la Fuente, Jovita Ha, Maria De Jesus De la Fuente (Javier), Cosme (Adela) De la Fuente, Jr., Mercedes De la Fuente, Juan Jose De la Fuente,Jose Gaudalupe De la Fuente, siblings: Jose (Jovita) De la Fuente, Mario (Bertha) De la Fuente, Espiridion De la Fuente, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. All individuals are encouraged to social distance and must wear face coverings or masks. (May include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings). Visitation will be held Tuesday June 29, 2021 with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Chapel service will be held Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
