Obituary of Ernesto Montemayor

Please share a memory of Ernesto to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ernesto Montemayor, 65, of San Benito entered into eternal rest on May 08, 2021. Ernesto was born on December 15, 1955 to Mr. Ricardo and Mrs. Maria Montemayor. He was 1 of 7 children. He attended Fred Booth Elementary and San Benito Middle School graduating class of 1976. In his youth, he worked with the city of Harlingen. Thereafter, he moved to the Dallas Fort Worth area where he worked as a night auditor. He met the love of his life Maria Felix and they were married and shortly afterwards they welcomed their son Ernesto Montemayor, Jr. who was born in Irving Texas. He then returned to San Benito to be closer to his parents. He worked in Harlingen for Days Inn, La Quinta Inn Suites, and most recently Quality Inn where he was still working part time as a night auditor. He planned to fully retire this year to spend time with his oldest daughter and granddaughters who he adored. He was a good husband, dad, and grandpa. He was a dedicated hard worker and was nice to everyone. He would not deny help to those who needed assistance. He was a supportive, caring, playful, and loving dad to all his kids and grandkids. He loved being a grandpa; he would spoiled his grandchildren every chance he got. He loved being surrounded by his immediate family and simply enjoyed being home with them, eating, watching movies, listening to music and joking around. Our family was blessed with having the most loving husband, dad, and grandpa anyone could ask for. He lived his last years in San Benito with his family. He is preceded in death by his father: Ricardo Montemayor, mother: Maria Montemayor Leal, and his brother Israel. He is survived by his wife Maria Felix Montemayor, daughters: Margarita (Rogelio) Castro, Marcelina Montemayor, Sons: Ernesto Montemayor, Jr., and Alberto (Sara) Montemayor, brothers: Ricardo, Roberto, Javier, Jose and sister: Dora Montemayor, grandchildren: Amber, Miranda, Brianna, Ellie Castro, Carlos Ernesto Montemayor, and baby Montemayor expected in July. All individuals are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines and must wear face covers or masks.
