Jesus Perez De la Garza, 66, of San Benito, entered into eternal rest, on February 21, 2021, at his residence with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito Perez and Guadalupe de la Garza, along with his sister, Maria Elena Perez de Sanchez. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jesus Jr.(Jennifer) Perez, Alejandro(Yvette)Perez, and Edgar(Debbie) Perez. Also surviving are his siblings, Margarito Perez, Ernesto Perez, Francisco Perez, Juan Manuel Perez, Jose Luis Perez, Santiago Perez, Fernando Perez, Carlos Perez, Maria del Pilar Perez, Maria Guadalupe Perez de Pulido, Refugia Perez, and Rosa Marta Perez de Vasquez. His grandchildren Sergio, Mia, Kaylin, Isabelle and Edgar, along with numerous other relatives. Jesus Perez was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, and resided in San Benito. Jesus Perez participated in various artistic events which showcased his many talents. Jesus published several books depicting his talents as a poet and a storyteller. Anyone who knew Jesus knew that he was a special soul. He had an immense passion for life and was always a positive source in everyone's life. His family and friends will miss him more than words can say. Author of the following books, Mi Vida, Vidita Mi 1 & 2, 2014 El Temor de Perder a Soledad, 2016 El Mensajero, 2018 Curandero, 2020 Vistitation will be held Monday, March 1, 2021, from 5pm -9pm with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7 pm. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 2pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
