Nellie Gutierrez, 39, of San Benito, Texas entered into eternal rest on February 19, 2021. Nellie was a loving sister and aunt. She was smart, kind, caring and always willing to lend a helping hand. She graduated from San Benito High School in 2001. She enjoyed the little things in life. She loved spending time with her siblings, nieces and nephew. She loved Sailor Moon and her favorite color was purple. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Reynaldo Gutierrez and Esperanza Lucila Gutierrez; and brother, Reynaldo Gutierrez, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Ruben Gutierrez; sister, Cora (Raul) Mendez; nieces, Brittany and Bianca Mendez; and a nephew, Brandyn Mendez. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 5 p.m., until 9 p.m., with a service beginning at 7 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting live foliage, preferably but not limited to the color purple.
